Vijay’s Kuruvi, which is already making the right noise in Kollywood, is again in the news. For the movie is all set to hit screens on 1 May, the birthday of the actor’s closest competitor Ajit.
Director Dharani, Vijay, Trisha and music composer Vidyasagar, who came together to create a magic with Ghilli are back again for Kuruvi, the production venture of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s grandson Udayanidhi Stalin.
The audio release of the film will be held today in Chennai. Speaking about the movie, Dharani said Kuruvi was an all-out action- adventure laced with romance and family sentiment.
I have written the script keeping Vijay’s image in mind’. Meanwhile, news is that Kuruvi has become the hottest film in the trade. The Kerala theatrical rights were sold for Rs 1.50 crore. The latest is that Karnataka rights have gone in for a record Rs 1.20 crore.

Remakes seem to be rocking in recent times and here comes the brother duo Selvaraghavan-Dhanush joining the list. Aadavari Maathladu Arthalae Vaeru starring Venkatesh, Trisha and Srikanth was a great blockbuster in Tollywood and now we have a great fiesta for B and C centres. The first thing we just wanted to tell us is that we have a great doubt why he some sort of annoyance towards father roles. Most of his films has the protagonist scolding his father and later transforming with his character. Let's leave it and that's nothing to do with this review…
The film opens with two unemployed youngsters Dhanush and Karunaas roaming around the city admiring the buddies cheering out for their offices. Dhanush is no one but an ordinary youngster who is in search of a job with low profiled qualification. Sooner, he gets employed in a software company where he falls in love with a higher official played by Nayanthara. It's an one side love and Nayanthara has no concern for him. Raghuvaran playing Dhanush's father role differ in attributes of various aspects and there is always a tiff happening between these two. Getting to know that his son is in love with a girl, he approaches her and has his hopes dashed as Nayan insults him. Unable to bear the mental affliction make his soul depart from the world and this is sure to melt your hearts…
Now family members of Nayanthara have arranged for her nuptials with Karthik and they are of orthodox class. With arrangements going for the marriage, Nayanthara loses her heart for Dhanush and family members are unaware about this. Right a day before marriage, Nayan's grandfather has things revealed and has plans to get Dhanush and Nayanthara united…. But things are now different when Dhanush has to decide whether to join hands with her and this forms the crux of the story.
Speaking about the directorial approach of Jawahar, he marks a good start with his venture and has defined characters well. Be it the father role played by Raghuvaran or a son of normal character, it has been presented with the expected levels. Nayanthara, who was earlier seen in only glamorous roles, has something different to perform here. Emoting well to different situations, she wins the accolades for her stunning realistic acting.
Raghuvaran remains cherished in her minds even after getting out of theatres and that's of his characterization and funeral rites gets us to the real feel of loosing such a great actor.
Main highlight of the film is the way that Jawahar has portrayed the lifestyle of Brahmins who are of an orthodox family. Adding to the humor part, its not just with a comedian's show, but majority of the star casts taking care of it. However, Karunaas steals the show and his combo with Dhanush makes it great as much as in previous flicks…
Getting on with technical aspects, Yuvan Shankar Raja has his best for the songs and background scoring enhancing the visual feel. Especially, in terms of background scoring, he has delivered the best part and couple of songs makes you hum to the tune…
Selvaraghavan's dialogues as in previous movies are focused for B and C centres and it would be nice if he makes some corrections while penning dialogues. So that audiences of A centre will have a great likeliness for the lines…
So, Yaaradi Nee Mohini is a good movie that you can enjoy watching to kill your time…
Tamil film and superstar suffers a big blow
The Akhila Karnataka Gadi Horata Samithi (AKGHS) has said that it won't allow superstar Rajinikant to 'step into the state' or his films to be screened until he offers a public apology for remarks on Karnataka and Kannadigas!
The firebrand president of AKGHS Vatal Nagaraj said: "Rajinikant insulted Kannadigas in his speech in Chennai. Until he offers a public apology to Kannadigas, we will not allow him into the state. We will also not allow his films to be screened. All Kannada organizations are with us." This clearly means that his forthcoming Kuselan cannot be screened in Karnataka.
Meanwhile Tamil film producers and stars are worried that they will lose the lucrative Karnataka market worth Rs 1 to Rs 2.5 crore per big film. The summer biggies and films due in the next four months like Vijay's Kuruvi, Kamal Hassan's Dasavatharam, Vikram's Kanthasamy, Ajit's Aegan, and above all Rajinikanth's Kuselan will not find takers in Karnataka. Already the Karnataka distributor of Dhanush's Yaaradi Nee Mohini has refused to take delivery of the prints, causing a loss of Rs 25 lakhs to the producer Kastoori Raja
Wedding bells may come soon in Superstars house

Soundarya was refusing for the marriage for now and was also told in the news.
The latest news reaching us is really shocking us, as like her elder, she is also fallen in love with a boy named Varun.
Varun is son of a leading road contractor and is very responsible in supporting his dad in his business. Varun is also highly educated from reputed institutes.
While Danush bought BMW car, it was this Varun, who gave guarantee for him.
Rajini was approached by Varun's family and they formally asked the girl for their son.

Simbhu is not important : Dhanush
Dhanush’s Yaaradi Nee Mohini will hit the theatres this Friday and while talking about the film which is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Aadavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule directed by his brother Selvaraghavan, Dhanush comes across as a very satisfied man. He says, “YNM is a romantic comedy where I have donned on a simple boy-next-door role. Nayanthara’s character also will be liked by everyone.” Answering to a query on his next film, Dhanush says that it will be under the direction of Suraaj produced by Vijaya Vani Productions. The name of the film would be Padikkadavan and the heroine is yet to be finalized.
Reacting to recent news in the media that Prabhu Deva has plans to do a film with Dhanush and Silambarasan, the lean actor reveals, “If I like the script, I don’t mind acting with not only Silambarasan but with anyone. But as of now, I have enough projects in hand and have not thought about teaming up with Prabhu Deva”.
Padikathavan stopped as of now
The start of Dhanush’s new film Padikadhavan has been inauspicious. The film has run into a ban by the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) on the first day of its shooting. The problem was Dhanush’s dates. The ban was imposed on the film by FEFSI upon receiving a complaint from the Gemini Labs banner. The production house claims that Dhanush had agreed to do a film for them immediately after Yaaradi Nee Mohini. However, the actor has dishonored the commitment and started work on Padikadhavan.
The shooting of the movie has been temporarily stalled till the issue is resolved. We do not know the truth of the matter, but whatever it is, the shooting of a movie being held up is not a solution to anybody’s problem. Hope matters are settled soon.
Yaaradi Nee Mohini Review
Yaaradi Nee Moghini is smartly packaged with everything inevitable in a Dhanush movie. With subdued emotions that hardly ever go overboard and in your face humor, director A. Jawahar gets everything almost right. Dhanush is a happy go lucky guy desperately in search of a job despite his bare minimum qualifications. One of those job-search episodes makes him catch a glimpse of Nayan who works for a software company. Dhanush falls instantly in love at first sight and luck favours him to secure a job in the same company, much to his delight, in Nayantara's team.
While Dhanush nurtures his love for Nayantara secretly, she turns a blind eye considering his lack of education and proper upbringing. And when he reveals his feelings, Nayantara turns him down, further humiliating his father Raghuvaran, leading to death. Although secretly in love with Dhanush, Nayantara, considering her orthodox Brahmin Iyengar background, decides to be married to Karthik instead. The wedding has already been planned by her parents. However, in the end, she expresses her love to Dhanush the night before the wedding. Now it is for Dhanush to decide whether to accept the love that cost him so dearly or to turn his back and pretend to lead a normal life.
Dhanush has immense scope in a role that is tailor-made for him and he pulls it off with consummate ease. Be it as a distraught jobless youngster or a love struck man craving for the impassive dream girl, the job couldn’t have fit anyone else this well. Nayantara dispels her bombshell act and proves that she can more than just that. She breaks into tears when needed, shows vicious contempt when rubbed the wrong way in the name of love, and looks endearing in songs.
Raghuvaran performance deserves a standing ovation and is a proof of how magnificent an actor he was. Ironically, there are scenes in the movie that has Dhanush perform Raghuvaran last rituals that will reduce a viewer to tears.
The humor goes with the flow, and scenes like the whole family of a dozen’s trip to the textile shop in a single vehicle is sure to bring the house down. Karunas establishes that Dhanush brings the best out of him yet again.
Director Jawahar has neatly framed the movie with less melodrama that is surprisingly tad unusual for a movie that focuses on a love story of a girl hailing from an orthodox family. Yuvan’s re-recording breathes life into the movie. So do the songs. Three of them linger long after you have left the theatre. Special mention must be made of the item number performed by a Ragasiya in the train that averts folks from sneaking out of the halls for a smoke. Hats off to the cinematographer who has captured Australia’s vibrant landscape breathtakingly but the director could have explored more beauty of that lovely country. Bhaskar’s editing helps keep up the pace of the movie.
If you do not mind the usage of crude language, especially between a father and a son, and the dialogues in general that seem a little bent towards a B and C center audience, you are in for a total treat in the Dhanush brand style.
