Awards and felicitations are nothing new for you if you are Yash Chopra, the undisputed 'king of romance', of Hindi films. The latest addition to this veteran's kitty of awards is the 'Officier de la Legion d`Honneur`, the highest French distinction, for his contribution to the Indian cinema.
The French cinema halls, where his films are being played, will be decorated in a special ceremony at the French Embassy in Parthe is, on July 5. He is one of India's most successful filmmakers ever, with a career straddling over decades, Chopra has been associated with more than 40 films, most of which have been successful at the box office. Earlier, this honour was bestowed upon the likes of the late Satyajit Ray, Lata Mangeshkar, and Amitabh Bachchan. Bonnafont, Ambassador of France to India would present the award to Chopra at the French Embassy during the official ceremony.
